Introducing myself to everyone

Post by jasontelford » 2017/07/26 09:03:07

Hi, I thought that my first post on the forum should be an introduction, introducing myself to the community. I am jumping ship from ubuntu to CentOS because my VPS provider does not provide the latest version of ubuntu. I had expected the transition to be difficult but so far it has been pretty strai forward with the majority of commands I used in ubuntu also working in CentOS 7 - I have found the transition less stressful than I had thought it was going to be.

That being said, there are a few things that will take some getting used to. For example: typing "yum" instead of "apt-get". Those things are just little niggles though and can be put down primarily to muscle memory.

So far I am liking CentOS and I am looking forward to being a part of the community.

So thats it, thats my introduction
