Turns out the original poster was a Vietnamese spammer who subsequently edited their post to contain a lot of SPAM so both the post and the poster have been deleted. Move along, nothing to see here...
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Whatever the OS, just write a cron job which copies in the appropriate config file on the appropriate days.
