Transaction Check Error: file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-dccp ( Updating the Kernel)

Post by julianstifler » 2018/05/09 19:46:40

Hello,
I have problems updating the kernel.
Here's the error message:

Transaction Check Error:
file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-dccp from install of kernel-2.6.18-419.el5.cent os.plus.x86_64 conflicts with file from package kernel-2.6.18-419.el5.x86_64

Can anyone help with this problem? then I will be very grateful, because I am very confused and have been looking for a way but there is no solution to this problem

Thank You
Best regards

CentOS 5 is no longer supported. Please try updating your system to CentOS 6 or 7.

I have no idea if this will work (it may even break your system):
Rename the file, update and then check how the new and old files compare.
That said, you really should update to 6 or 7.
