Now that CentOS and Redhat have joined forces, does that mean that CentOS is going to become Fedora?

Absolutely not. Fedora will still exist and be the experimental bleeding edge with a short lifetime. CentOS will still be the free rebuild of RHEL.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
