When I move a hard drive from one server to another the nic card never works.
I found a work around where I delete the nic card file, reboot to get a new file, grab the mac address and paste that into the dns settings.
But I just want to request this as a feature or something maybe to add.
This is always a tricky time when I'm in a hurry and learning to do it caused hours of downtime the first time.
Love CentOS, just a thought.
Thanks,
Is there a way for centos to find new nic card information?

You need to edit the /etc/udev/rules.d file with a name like persistent-net.rules and remove the old MAC address.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
