since - Stateful tail replacement in CentOS

Post by Mebus » 2016/02/02 23:52:04

Hallo,

would it be possible to get since from

http://welz.org.za/projects/since

included in the CentOS repos?

There is already a Fedora package:

http://rpms.famillecollet.com/rpmphp/zoom.php?rpm=since

It would be great to have it in CentOS, too. :)

Thanks!

CentOS repackages what Red Hat provides, so you would need to ask Red Hat.
You would probably have more luck with asking for it to be included in one of the third party repos though, such as NUX Dextop.

Or EPEL if it's already in Fedora.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

I contacted the Fedora maintainer of since and now we've got this:
