It's the YYMM of the upstream RHEL release.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

YY=YearYear=(20)19, (20)20, (21)21......last two digits in this century.
MM=MonthMonth=01, 02, 03..10, 11, 12. Or January through December, two-digit, incrementally numbered.
