When I start this machine, eth0 is not connected and there is a red X on the network icon on the top of the screen. If I click on it and select eth0 from the menu it then connects and works properly.
How do I get it to connect automatically on startup? Curiously when I open the network connections it lists System eth0 under the Wired tab but the Last Used is set to "never" even though I use it all the time.

Never mind, I see there's an option to connect automatically in the network connections applet.
