Play Audio From Line-In to Speakers

How can I play the audio that is currently coming into the PC on Line-In (or
microphone)? I want to output it to the speakers. What's the easiest way to
do this? (I'm running CentOS 6.4)

i realize this is an old thread, but something i needed to do myself after a long hiatus.

Do not have a source to plug-in to mic-in to test this at the moment, but pulse audio monitor command line utility pamon should do it:

Otherwise, the jack

package has some interesting package names. Jack is a package for professional audio engineers to patch sound from one device jack into another. The description for qjackctl uses the term patchbay.
