Hello guys!
I need some help. I have a new AMD kabini PC. MSI AM1I motherboard, AMD athlon 5350 CPU.
My problem is when I want to install, it freezes at language selection screen, just at the begining of the installation.
It shows hardware initialization 2-3 times, goes to language select screen, and totally hangs. Can only hard reset.
I tried to install from USB. On my Haswell PC, installation went fine, using the same USB disk.
Do you have any idea why it freezes?
Thanks

Re: CentOS 6.5 x86 64 installation hangs
If your BIOS has some sort of a "Legacy USB" setting for your keyboard/mouse, try turning it on.

Also try appending amd_iommu=on to the kernel command line and make sure you are using a USB 2.0 port and not a 3.x one.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: CentOS 6.5 x86 64 installation hangs
So you think this is an USB problem? I have a SATA DVD drive. If I burn the ISO to a DVD, and boot from it, should work?
Re: CentOS 6.5 x86 64 installation hangs
I don't know for certain what is the problem, but my theory was that the installer does not recognize your keyboard or mouse, and may appear frozen because the installer doesn't recognize any input devices. This is not related to which installation media you choose to use.

I see now. I will test when I got home. Thank you
