Hi all,
I have an issue on my CentOS 6.5. The issue is that when I open a 3D graphic software called "Houdini", it will black out my monitor for seconds then forcibly log out my account.
I am wondering if anyone has had the same/similar issue before or knows something about the cause.
Kind regards,
Forcibly Logged Out
Re: Forcibly Logged Out
Run yum update to get to 6.6 and try again.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Thank you for your reply.
I've updated the kernel(?) to 6.6 and the nvidia driver to the latest. It's working now.
I followed this instruction in case someone needs:

Re: Forcibly Logged Out
You followed random and wrong instructions on the internet I'm afraid. The better method is to google for ELRepo and install that as a yum repository and then you can yum install nvidia-detect which, when you run nvidia-detect post-install, will tell you which of their kmod-nvidia packages you should install. You current method will break next (and every) time you update your kernel. Using the correct ELRepo kmod-nvidia will survive kernel updates and also will offer you newer nvidia drivers when an update becomes available.
