When I moved from Windows to Linux some months ago I went with Ubuntu desktop as it was the most popular. Now I want to change to CentOS desktop as administering a CentOS 6.6 server is my main job, having two sets of commands (for Ubuntu desktop and CentOS server) can be confusing.
Main purpose of the desktop will be to support the server, to start I want to create kickstart file on the desktop for server use.
Which version of CentOS desktop to install? If I go with version 7 there may be some confusion I think, so I should go with the latest 6?
Or is that incorrect?
Which CentOS version to install as desktop?

Re: Which CentOS version to install as desktop?
If you are running 6.6 at work, install 6.6.
I don't see where a kickstart file is going to help you here.
This is just one machine. Do a manual install.
