[SOLVED] Can I be Kickstart Install from UEFI ?

Post by omnix-mm » 2015/03/30 13:29:25

Hi,
I tryed hp DL360Gen9 "UEFI mode" and CentOS 6.5 x86_64's DVD by Kickstart install.
But, The startup option menu and NIC setting menu was skipped , I Couldn't start Kickstart install.

I have no choice. I try again turn to the "Legacy BIOS mode".
Then, I can be input to startup option and NIC setting for start to Kickstart install.
(Startup option was "ks=ftp://[FTP server's IP]/[Kickstart Filename]".)

Is this problem about into startup process on EFI Files ?

(p.s.) Talk about it "CentOS Part 43【RHEL Clone】(c)2ch.net"

>>440 : My comment.
>>441 response: Same problem on RHEL7 or SL7 at the Supermicro's system.

Sorry, aks.
My wrote "When does the issue will be modify ?" to the Red Hat or CentOS Developer .(for my wish.)
I hope that use normal Install DVD on UEFI setup just like BIOS mode.

Hi,

I think you're going through Google translate or something like that - that's cool, no problem. I think your question now is when will it be so that I can install CentOS without any of the "extra" steps. If that's the case, you'd be better asking then CentOS developers (Google will help to find the mailing list). Otherwise have a look at what Fedora is doing - what Fedora does often feeds back to RHEL and consequently CentOS.

日本語の centos ユーザメーリングリストがあるのを御存じですか。
Do you happen to know that there is a CentOS user mailing list in Japanese?

Thank you , This posted be all solved.

I tried CentOS 7.0-1406 KickStart install on UEFI mode today.
That , Displayed Startup prompt and processing install and finished.
This issue was only CentOS(RHEL) 6.x.
