What, the DNS messages? I doubt that, although the server might be misconfigured (not a named expert, though). Next time, use CentOS plastebin and post just the link.
Root is evil: Do not use root (sudo) to run any of the commands specified in my posts unless explicitly indicated. Please, provide the necessary amount of context to understand your problem/question.

No, I meant about the screensaver crashing, listed on 10th April at about 1436 - somewhat surprising, as I didn't realise the server ran a screensaver (certainly not configured by me)! - I will bear in mind pastebin too, thanks for the tip.

Here also is the yum.log:

So, do they give you any ideas as to what I need to do with the server, excluding re-booting, of course!?

Related as a consequence, maybe. Not as a cause. Your server looks more like a desktop to me... For example, LibreOffice. That shouldn't be a problem, though. A screensaver is part of a standard desktop installation. Nothing particularly wrong with the yum log, either, at least to my eye. The complete system messages would have been more interesting, but don't post them here, please: use the pastebin.

You may want to submit those named messages to some security forum. They could be a DNS cache poisoning attempt (again, not a security or named expert). As for the server, you may want to backup your data and ask for local advice, as previously suggested.

So do I take it then, giulix63, that neither yum.log nor messages.txt give you any idea as to why the server has all but crashed at all?! :(

I seem to remember that you once posted a thread on the subject of those and we advised you that you should not have your DNS port open to the internet.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

I don't remember that, TrevorH, but how does my server accept D.N.S. requests if it is closed to the Internet?
