So I tried installing 6.6 (and an older version of 6.5) using the minimal iso, and they both ultimately get to a point where the install stops, and I have to use the following to fix/continue with the install (Solution 1):

The problem is, for some reason after entering the correct repository server, it then apparently does a full install (I think), with Gnome desktop, x11, etc etc.
Is there a way I can revert to just a minimal install, or do I have to remove all the extra stuff I didn't want one by one?

Re: Issue/s trying to do minimal install of 6.6
The minimal install installs off the DVD, not a network install.
Were you using a CD/DVD or were you using a thumb drive.
If a thumb drive, you must dd the iso directly to the thumb drive, not a partition.
