automounting cifs shares

Hi,

Is it possible to automount cifs shares (hosted on a samba server) when a user logs in to their workstation?
Trying to find a solution that doesn't involve storing a users creds in a file for mount.cifs to use.
Workstations are either authenticated using NIS or LDAP. This instance of LDAP doesn't have the auto mount property enabled.

Any suggestions?
