Hi,
I am trying to create a bootable USB for CentOS 6.7 - I downloaded the ISO image: CentOS-6.7-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso (7.8GB) and I used the tutorial available at: http://wpguru.co.uk/2015/02/how-to-copy ... -mac-os-x/
I have succeed once with a ScanDisk 16Gb. However, any other attempts using other 16Gb usbs (kingston, tdk, etc.) have failed. What is for me very strange is that it creates only a partition called Sony_8GB (???) without any contents.
I also tried to create using a Linux box (with CentOS 6.7) but the same error occurred: just one partition called Sony_8GB. Any one knows what can be the reason? It is very strange that CentOS ISO is creating a partition with such name.
Thanks,
RF

CentOS-6.7-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso should be only some 3.7GB in size, exactly 3895459840 bytes. If yours is 7.8GB, something is wrong. Checking the md5/sha1/sha256sum of the downloaded .iso might also be a good idea.
Perhaps at some point you mixed the if and of parameters, and copied an empty USB stick to the .iso image.
