You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

There are several problems.
Security is not supported.
You have conflicting repos without priorties.
Atomic and rpmforge are not recommended repos.
Disable the problematic repos and do a "yum clean all".

In addition, try running yum clean all to see if that helps resolve the 404 errors.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

sorry for the delay,

after

[root@centos8 ~]# yum clean all
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
Cleaning repos: atomic base epel extras local puppetlabs-deps puppetlabs-products rpmforge updates
Cleaning up Everything
Cleaning up list of fastest mirrors
[root@centos8 ~]# yum update --security
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
Determining fastest mirrors
Error: Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel. Please verify its path and try again

should I still remove problematic repos?

all right I deleted all repos leaving only one attached in picture. I have atomic and rpmforge, did yum clean all

and then yum update

looks like it works,

P.S I will be doing that for production environment. Looks like all 30 servers have this issue. I am looking just for safe way not to brake anything.

What version of CentOS are you running? What is the output of rpm -q centos-release ? You need to have at least the version of nss* packages from 6.4 and higher to be able to decode the current SSL certificate for the EPEL repository. If you do not then you will be unable to access EPEL mirrors. If that is the case then you should run yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=base,update update to fetch all packages and update them from the CentOS base and updates repos. That will get you to 6.7 and that will be able to understand the new certificate.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

well finally after yum update all have been uptaded but message I get:

[root@centos11 ~]# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities, security
Setting up Update Process
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: ftpmirror.your.org
* epel: mirror.steadfast.net
* extras: centos.host-engine.com
* updates: mirror.dattobackup.com
410 packages excluded due to repository priority protections
No Packages marked for Update

is this something I should worry: 410 packages excluded due to repository priority protections ?

yes in regards of your prevoius reply:

centos-release-6-4.el6.centos.10.x86_64 I have 6.4 version ....

so I should run yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=base,update update and that fix the problems?

thank you

You should definitely not be running 6.4 any more. It came out in February 2013 and was made obsolete when 6.5 was released the following November. It contains numerous unfixed security vulnerabilities that updating to a more recent version will fix. An update will also update the nss packages and allow the newer EPEL SSL certificate to be recognised as valid and will allow you to update packages from there too. To update to the current 6.7 from where you are now you can run yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=base,updates update but you will need to reboot afterwards to make that take effect completely. It would probably also be a good idea for you to google the CentOS and RHEL 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 release notes and read those prior to updating in case there are any issues outstanding that might affect you.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

What are your priority settings? Make sure that updates repo has the same priority as base.
