Trevor
I've now got two hard drives cloned and 233gb of backup data stored on a second computer so I feel safe with the data. I'll check the logs and then remount the original hard drive and check it. Possibly post the smartctl output from that drive.

Thanks
Jim

This is for the original hard drive that started all this.

Here's part of the data from /var/log/messages

If you think its worth while I can post all of the smartd messages.

Re: errors transfered by clonezilla?

Post by hoodcanaljim » 2017/04/14 15:02:53

Well.... after watching the drive for two days and reading the posting on google about the odd readings from SeaGate drives I feel I overreacted to the messages in the email from Smartd. I have gotten a lot of good experience with Clonezilla and know more then I did before about Smartd info so not a total loss.
Thanks for walking me out of the woods.

Jim
