Hello,
I don't find the ifcfg-eth0 file in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts (i'm using centos 6.9)
i tried to creat a new file in the same path but when i restart the VM. i lose the file.
I'm new in CentOS. I really need your help to fix it.
Thanks you in advance.
ifcfg-eth0
Re: ifcfg-eth0
Post the output from ifconfig -a and from ls -la /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg*
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: ifcfg-eth0
Don't install from the live CD. Use DVD1.

Re: ifcfg-eth0
you're running the machine from the dvd, every change you made isn't saved.
I never really downloaded the centos live dvd, so I'm not sure if you get sent to gnome like fedora's...
you have to install it. When you launch the live cd/dvd there should be an icon on the desktop to install and follow the installation.
or I imagine that when you boot, you get presented with some options and one of them should be "install"
if none of this works then get this one
http://mirror.rackspace.com/CentOS/6.9/ ... inimal.iso
and follow the easy installation
(or choose from the mirrors) http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/6/isos/x86_64/
also since you're installing anew you may want to move on to CentOS7 but that's your choice
