Hello,
I have a user account which was working fine until two days ago. It was password authenticating without issue.
Now however, I can not get it to authenticate. I have tried changing the password with "passwd", no dice. I know what the password is, and when I set up a new user2 with the same password that user authenticated just fine.
Deleting and remaking the user did not correct the issue, still password failed.
The only thing in my /var/log/secure is that authentication was denied due to incorrect password.
There doesnt seem to be anything awry in /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow. The home directory is owned by the user.
How can I debug this problem?
