I installed Centos v6.4 on the HP DL580 G7 with 512GB of memory and it works fine. When running the DL580 G7, the memory can be tested through, but when the boot centos are not bootable, the centos can not be booted.
Have you encountered this problem?

Current release is CentOS 6.9. You should use it.

I did not see a mention of how you reduced the memory size, despite the post subject. Could you please elaborate on that? You had 512 GB initially, but what was the reduced amount of RAM?

Re: Can not boot centos v6.4 when reducing memory size.
I use 6.4 according to customer needs and plans to upgrade to 6.9 next year.
I need to remove the memory of 128GB because I have to put it on another HP DL580 with memory loss.
So meet the problem as mentioned.

Re: Can not boot centos v6.4 when reducing memory size.
Please note that 6.4 contains extremely serious security vulnerabilites and should not be used. You should immediately start to plan to update to the latest 6.x version to fix these.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
