Hi

I am new to using Centos and the version I have downloaded from an ISO (Centos 6.90) "Centos-6.9-x86_64-LiveDVD.ISO" (running on Oracle VM BOX0

currently I need to create two repositories, One is successful and the "centos" repo throws up the follow error.
See attachment

I have come across many forums with this error and have followed suggestions like.

removing all other repos in the yum.repos.d folder except for the "local-repos.repo" I am using but I cant get the Centos Repo to work correctly.
I have also ran Yum clean all, yum update

I would be very grateful if some one could provide me a simple step by step way of trouble shooting this.

Do not use the "LiveDVD" iso for installation. As the name says, this iso is intended to run a Live CentOS system from the DVD.

For installation use, you should download CentOS-6.9-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso (and optionally CentOS-6.9-x86_64-bin-DVD2.iso).
These two DVD images contain the entire base distribution. A basic installation only requires DVD1.

Why are you using CentOS-6.9? Although still actively maintained, CentOS-6 clearly shows its age. If you are new to CentOS and want to install a new system, it is highly recommended to install the latest release, CentOS-7.4. For installation, you need CentOS-7-x86_64-Everything-1708.iso.
