Problems with Start-on after power crash -Give root password for maintenance-

Post by Aaronhdzid » 2018/03/17 02:41:08

I have problems to start up CentOS after a power crash. I got the following messages:

Welcome to CentOS
Starting udev: [OK]
Setting hostname cloud: [OK]
Setting up Logical Volume Management: 3 logical volume(s) in volume group "vg_kloudpaper" now active
[OK]
Checking filesystems
/dev/mapper/vg_kloudpaper-lv_root contains a file system with errors, check forced.
Inde 1837282, end of extent exceeds allowed value
(logical block 6, physical block 7444498, len 1)
/dev/mapper/vg_kloudpaper-lv_root: UNEXPECTED INCOSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.
(i.e., without -a or -p options)
[FAILED]
*** An error ocurred during the file system check.
*** Dropping you to a shell: the system will reboot
*** when you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control -D to continue):

Any idea how to fix it to make run properly again? Many thanks in advance for kind help.

Try entering the root password and then run fsck /dev/mapper/vg_kloudpaper-lv_root from the shell. fsck will likely ask you if it's allowed to fix something. You will likely want to let fsck fix those errors.
