Post by xtdz32 » 2018/04/12 12:11:49

Greetings ,
I am trying to install cent OS 6.8 on a HP gen 9 blade server.
after installation of full package, and trying to restart to desktop, it displays Error 13: Invalid or unsupported file format.

i tried loading from the grub, but i think i am geting the comman wrong.
here's my process
grub> root (hd0,1)
grub> Kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-642xxxxxx root=<sda,sdb>
grub> initrd /initrdxxxxxx
grub> boot

after typing this, i get an erro in the process. how do i identify the label for root=<Label>

Thanks for your support

Is your machine in UEFI or Legacy BIOS mode? CentOS 6 has very limited support for UEFI systems and none at all for secure boot.

Also, don't use 6.8, it's out of date. The latest (and probably last) CentOS 6 is 6.9.

If you installed CentOS 6.8 then make sure to run yum update ASAP as tehre are numerous high severity security problems in 6.8 that are not fixed until you update.
