I am trying to install cent OS 6.8 on a HP gen 9 blade server.
after installation of full package, and trying to restart to desktop, it displays Error 13: Invalid or unsupported file format.
i tried loading from the grub, but i think i am geting the comman wrong.
here's my process
grub> root (hd0,1)
grub> Kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-642xxxxxx root=<sda,sdb>
grub> initrd /initrdxxxxxx
grub> boot
after typing this, i get an erro in the process. how do i identify the label for root=<Label>

Is your machine in UEFI or Legacy BIOS mode? CentOS 6 has very limited support for UEFI systems and none at all for secure boot.
Also, don't use 6.8, it's out of date. The latest (and probably last) CentOS 6 is 6.9.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Thanks Man, It is working now, all i did was change from UEFI to Legacy and it started working.

If you installed CentOS 6.8 then make sure to run yum update ASAP as tehre are numerous high severity security problems in 6.8 that are not fixed until you update.
