Where are the latest .RPMs?

Post by ewedaa » 2018/04/26 19:35:04

Where are the latest .RPMs?

I've looked at http://mirror.centos.org/centos-6/6.9/o ... /Packages/ and those packages only seem to go to March of 2017.

Please don't say "Do a yum update" since I can't do that do to corporate firewall restrictions, and the last guy to do the updates left and didn't leave notes on how he created the local repo directory.

Thanks!

You're looking at the base 'os' repo and that only changes when a new point release is made available. You want to look in the /updates/ directory instead.

Creating a local mirror is easy : For information on how to go about setting up a local CentOS mirror please see https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/CreateLocalMirror

And, you need to fix your network so it works and you can yum update. Leaving systems unpatched for more than a year is more dangerous than being able to access the mirror network. If they're particularly anal then you can change your repo files to use a baseurl= that points to a particular external mirror - for example mirrors.kernel.org is good and fast.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
