I have a lone CentOS 6 container running on a Proxmox host. Recently the container started creating /fastboot. I have looked into where that file might be created and am clueless at this point.
While the file might be created by the host Proxmox, at this point I am presuming the file is created within CentOS. The file is being created both when I stop/start the container from Proxmox and when I run the reboot command from within the container.
This is a container, which of course means no kernel, no grub, etc.
What are the different ways this file is created?
Thanks again.
How is /fastboot created?
Re: How is /fastboot created?
It's not anything I've ever heard of before. Running yum provides "*/fastboot" only lists /usr/bin/fastboot from the android-tools EPEL package. Google only returns hits about android when searched for "/fastboot" linux
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Re: How is /fastboot created?
I finally traced this down to Proxmox.
