OS keeps changing folder ownership to root:root

Post by phil.e » 2019/04/05 17:54:31

I've got a folder /data created on an LVM partition mounted in /etc/fstab as an ext4 partition with options (rw,nodev)
I created a folder under /data named logs, and changed the owner from root:root to username:users with permissions of 770.
The /data folder is owner root:root and permissions of 755
Everyday the owner on /data/logs is changed back to root:root, and I can't figure out why.
The OS is CentOS 6.10
Ideas?
