Hi all
i need to completely uninstall open ldap.
I have tried numerous times to uninstall but some files are still on my system.
yum -y remove openldap-servers openldap-clients
rm -rf /var/lib/ldap
userdel ldap
What command do i have to use for complete removal?
Completely Unisntall OpenLDAP

Re: Completely Unisntall OpenLDAP
You cannot.
The 'openldap' package itself is a dependency of many system critical packages and an attempt to yum remove openldap will end with
Error: Trying to remove "yum", which is protected
Why do you think you want to do this?

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: Completely Unisntall OpenLDAP
Uninstalling it will not help with that. It's a configuration error.

Re: Completely Unisntall OpenLDAP
Do you mean that authentication to the machine is now trying against an LDAP installation that doesn't exist (in which case dive into pam module stacks)?
But yeah, it's easier to start off from fresh.
