I have not found on the web a document that tells me the compatibility of version 5 of the kernel with the different distros, that you know is it possible to install kernel 5 on Cebtos 6.10?
Thanks 10000 in advanced.
Kernel 5 compatibility?
Re: Kernel 5 compatibility?
CentOS-6.x has been end of life for a long time now. I have seen, but not tried, articles explaining how to install it on CentOS-8, but I would guess it can't be done on CentOS-6. Even if you could, as it is end of life, you should really upgrade.

Re: Kernel 5 compatibility?
Yes I know it is EOL but you know, unfortunately there are some applications with little documentation that having to install everything on a new server is almost impossible. I have installed kernel 5 to different vm with Centos 7 and 8 without problems, but with Centos 6 I got the doubt just because it is older.
Re: Kernel 5 compatibility?
There are times when you just have to bite the bullet and do the right thing. In this case the right thing is to get off CentOS 6 ASAP. It's dead, There will be no more updates for it. There are already severe security bugs in it that mean it's not safe to run.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
