Hi!

I think this can be done if you disable RHGB in the boot. For this, edit the /etc/grub.conf file and in the line of your kernel, delete the "rhgb" word. You might also want to remove the "quiet" word in case you like to see the kernel boot process on the screen.

Regards.

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

Not sure getting rid of rhgb is going to help if you want a different text-mode console resolution. Might try adding "vga=ask" to the kernel line in grub.conf and experiment with the VESA modes to see if you can get one more to your liking. If you find one you like you can specify it in place of "ask".

Other alternatives include a larger monitor and better glasses. :-)
