Is it really true that I can't do any manual partitioning using netinstall?
I started the installation and to me it is very clear that there is no way I can do that on my PIII 512MB but I'm asking here because I find this very hard to believe, especially on a server you must have an option to replace system but preserve data.
So what am I missing?
(What I want is a serverOS on an old computer, for testing purposes.
CentOS 6 has two installation-media, one dvd and one netinstall. This computer has no dvd s netinstall is only option.)

No partitioning in netinstall?
Welcome to CentOS.
New users should read:

No. It is not true.
You cannot do custom partitioning with the text install.
Net install using the GUI gives you full control.

I agree with Gerald's answer completely (and lots of people are unhappy with TUV's crippling of the text-mode installer) but would add that installation from USB media is a possible option if the BIOS supports it. Re: No partitioning in netinstall?
Amazing...
I did read the docs first, just had to ask because I simply could not believe what I read.
I guess it also means I must install a GUI on the server - why would I want that??
Well, I do want to partition myself and I don't want a GUI so I'm moving on to some other server-distro.
CentOS is clearly not for me.
Thanks for your replys!

Re: No partitioning in netinstall?
The anaconda install runs in GUI mode. That does not mean you must do a workstation installation.
