changing display parameters
changing display parameters
Were do you change the monitor type? I would like to use a higher resolution than the default will allow. In Release 5.5 I could search for a monitor from a list and pick my monitor and then it would allow me to change the resolution.

changing display parameters
TUV has chosen not to include system-config-display in EL6. See BZ#586117 which contains my suggested work-around. It also disappears from Fedora for 14 and up. The latest SRPM is system-config-display-2.2-1.fc12.src.rpm.
The suggested replacement is xrandr but that lacks the functionality to set the monitor if it is not auto-detected properly.
Perhaps some 3rd party repo could be persuaded to supply system-config-display.

Re: changing display parameters
I was able to get higher resolution by coping the xorg.conf file from a Centos 5.6 release to the /etc/X11 directory on the 6.0 release, but the monitor type was not recognised.
