Problem with emerging queues on Postfix / dovecot / mariadb

Post by redelek » 2018/10/17 07:31:07

Good morning, all

Please excuse my spelling, but I have no practice.
I have CentOS 6.5 installed

Code: Select all

2.6.32-431.20.3.el6.x86_64 # 1 SMP Thu Jun 19 21:14:45 UTC 2014 x86_64
This is a Virtual Machine on VMware vCenter 5.0. The server has 8 cores and 10Gb of ram. For several days, I have created gigantic queues of 800 e-mails. You can not see the used processor or the Memory, everything is almost normal. I see this error in the queue:

Code: Select all

I have installed
- postfix 2.11.1
-dovecot 2.0.9
-mariadb 10.0.14

I will be obliged for help. On the server I have 1000 accounts, the database takes 1Tb. They read the mail with RoundCube.

thank you

I have CentOS 6.5 installed
That's *5 YEARS* old. That's incredibly dangerous, running a 5 year old unpatched operating system and connecting it to the internet. You should be running yum update to get up to date all the time not leaving it for 5 years :-(

Your /var/log/maillog will probably contain more information about the delivery failures.

nothing is in the logs they are delivered only with a long delay and I do not know why this is happening. I know we have an old system, but it still has to stay

The problem seems to be in Dovecot. Any Dovecot-related errors in that log?

It's not about "staying". It's about keeping up to date and fixing known security vulnerabilities. And there are hundreds of them in 6.5 since it's 5 years old and thus you have not fixed anything that's been discovered in the last 5 years. All you need to do is run yum update and you'll get to 6.10. Not exactly difficult.
