I was ubuntu user and heard about the performance of CentOS so i moved on.
Now i cant install puredata version with Gem, called pd-extended.
Is possible some build the source for new users?

Might be easier to use a 'light' version of either current Fedora or Fedora 19 and use the packages provided by CCRMA at Stanford. You appear to be able to get the whole subsystem including kernel, jack, and the pd/GEM applications.

Their CentOS packages are way old but are still available for a CentOS 5 installation. They seem to have moved to Fedora more recently.
I'm no expert, if anyone else knows of a repository for current CentOS please let us know.
