PackageKit

Post by DarkSnake-Kobra » 2011/08/14 20:23:20

I'm using CentOS 6 with KDE, but there is no packagekit unlike the Gnome edition. When I try to install it it says it's already the latest. However, I cannot find it under the Applications.
[root@LAPTOP Downloads]# yum install PackageKit
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: updates.interworx.info
* extras: mirrors.adams.net
* rpmforge: fr2.rpmfind.net
* updates: centos.corenetworks.net
Setting up Install Process
Package PackageKit-0.5.8-13.el6.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
Not familiar with it, but I'd try doing "rpm -ql PackageKit" and reading the man pages.

Sorry for the late response I've been a bit busy lately. I ended up going back to Gnome since I didn't have the time to look at it. Might look at it again in the future. Thanks for the help.:)
