I am behind a proxy server. It looks like after making the change that you suggested I was able to run a yum update without any errors.

Thanks for reporting back. Relevant details like the presence of a proxy server would be good to mention up front in the future, saving time and guesswork for both you and your helpers. Marking this thread [SOLVED] for posterity.

Hi,

Seems a long time after this one was solved, but i had the same issue today and nothing worked. Weird part was that all rpms were downloaded normaly except kernel that gave me the same error as reported here, so I did: /etc/init.d/iptables stop . All updates were then downloaded fine and installed. Started iptables after and all ok.
