I am running the latest and greatest native Firefox from Mozilla. I used to run the version from the CentOS repos, and for reasons I can't remember switched to native Firefox. However, with the last couple of version updates, Firefox has been giving me a lot of trouble. The newest release is 40.0.2, and it immediately crashes on most of the Youtube videos I've tried to play. I also have read that Adobe no longer supports Flash for Linux.
So my question is this: will I eliminate most or all of the problems going back to the repo version? Shouldn't a repo version be compatible with all the other packages, libraries, etc., needed by Firefox and available in CentOS 6?
Thanks so much.

Yes, it should be more stable but you should also specify html5 as your default https://www.youtube.com/html5?gl=CA
