Hello! This is my first post on the forums, hope this finds you well. This all stems from issues not being able to send emails using basic php scripts and I am getting authentication issues, and I am pretty certain it is due to a lack of ssl in php. I have openssl installed on my system, but not for php. I am trying to get help for compiling/building php with openssl support. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The version of php provided by CentOS 6 is 5.3.3. You will need to ask whoever you got 5.4.10 from about any defects in it as CentOS does not supply it. If you want to try with the CentOS supplied version then you'll need to remove the 5.4.10 version from your system (reversing however it was installed) and then use `yum install php php-common` and any other php packages that you require.
