Hello,
I am trying to accomplish the result of having whatismyip.com not detect my squid proxy as a proxy as stated in this arcticle here:
h t t p s : / / w w w
.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-squid-proxy-on-centos-6
I did all the steps in the above article but still have not been able to figure out why my Droplet Squid Proxy IP is being detected as a Proxy.
Appreciate anyone who might have some pointers on what to try or who have had similar issues with Squid CentOS 6.9 64bit running on Droplets via DigitalOcean
Thanks
Squid Proxy + CentOS 6.9 64bit

Seems you're passing the proxy headers (I didn't read the entire article, 'cause life is to short, but they where listed). There is the concept of transparent vs intercepting proxies. Suggest you Google around that.

Re: Squid Proxy + CentOS 6.9 64bit
So after reading up on that and doing some more research it appears whatsmyip.com seeing my squid as a DCH proxy is normal and isnt really an easy way around it being detected as such:
DCH could refer to Data Center, Content Delivery Network or Hosting Provider. It is wide range of servers, but it does not guarantee to be proxy.

Best,

Never heard of DCH, sounds like marketing crap to me. Suggest you don't pass the X-forwarded-for header in your http stream (that's one header, it is the usual one, there are other proxy headers).
