Nginx won't work with CWP

Post by Rameleu » 2017/05/21 17:38:47

Hello,

I recently bought a dedicated server, and decided to install CentOS 6.9.

I then decided to use Nginx as a reverse proxy for Apache, because my website is streaming in a way that he can't do anything else while a single video is streamed. I then needed to use Nginx. But, the bad thing is, even after configuring Nginx, my website is still using Apache as this picture shows.

I would really like to know how to use Nginx. Thank you a lot for your help, and if you need any other things, I'll surely tell you !

You'll need to seek support from CWP as that product is nothing at all to do with the CentOS project - other than abusing our good name.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Well I was just explaining that I installed my web server through CWP.

The problem has, I guess, nothing to do with CWP. It is only related to Apache/Nginx/PHP configuration, which I can't get to work properly.

I can also go to CWP support if there's no chance it can get solved there, but I think you guys can help me.

What I don't understand is, I looked through a lot of guides on how to install Nginx to get it to work as I want to, but none of them works. That's what I don't understand.

Thank's a lot

It is hard to help you, because I do not know what CWP changed in your server.

BTW: if you install nginx from EPEL repo, just disable apache, enable nginx, it should be enough to start nginx. To run php on nginx you should use php-fpm,

Thank you for your help. I already have installed php-fpm. When I disable apache (service httpd stop), the page shows this :
502 Bad Gateway

nginx/1.12.0
Do you think I should reinstall everything from scratch and not install CWP ? If so, I will do this.

Anyway thank you for your help !
