centos 6 final Firefox passwords issue

Post by john2018 » 2018/02/20 12:06:57

I've just updated my browsing machine (yum update -y)
and the newly installed firefox keeps asking me if I want to save passwords on every site I go to.
Can anyone tell me how to stop it asking and never save any passwords at all - ever.

I've had to go through all the settings and turn some unsafe ones back off again but I cant
find a way to stop this.
TIA

Edit->Preferences->Security and uncheck "Remember logins for sites".

Thanks steve - however this is already unchecked and greyed out (I just looked again in case)

I have also had 2 other issues:

1. I just powered up and it had turned back on keeping histories - it took me 3 goes to make that stay off between restarts.
2. When I powered on it immediately connected to about the last 6 web pages I was previously using - the start up
page is set to "blank page"

Could there be another Firefox running somewhere, using the same home directory, that is overwriting your changes to the profile? Or maybe something is corrupt within your settings and you just need to create a new profile.

There arent any other things running - but it was created as an update with yum -y so you could be right
about it having something corrupt.
I dont know how to create new profiles but I'll have a root around and try that.
