Hi I have just upgraded my server to a HP G6 DL380 with a solaris os , I have always used CentOS and wish to replace the solaris os presently installed. I normally do a netinstall ,I have found nothing on the net about installing CentOS6.6 on a HP G6 DL380, is it as easy as the normal build, setup and config CentOS6.6 minimal server install or is there something I’m missing with my search. I don’t wish to start only to find out I’m wiping a good os that I may have to use due to incomparability issues between HP and CentOS.
Many thanks nzgunn
Centos 6.6 on G6 DL380
Re: Centos 6.6 on G6 DL380
I have CentOS 6 running on 2 HP Proliant DL380 G6 machines and I do not remember having to do anything special to them to make it work. You might want to take the time to update everything on the machine to the latest firmware as the RAID controller is often problematic and has numerous firmware versions available.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
