Webcam upside down

I have an ASUS X58L Laptop with internal Webcam, and have just installed Centos 6.5 Mint. Cheese is working fine however when I go to use my webcam through AdobeFlash it is upside down. When I view the other person they are rightside up. Over the last two days I have checked Centos and Mint forums and a number of other web forums to resolve this issue however I am so confused by the various ways to rectify this problem. I am not techno savvy and need simple instruction to figure this out. Can you please help me to resolve this issue. Many thanks Tracy

A Google shows that Asus & webcam upside down is a common issue. All the solutions I found were to use LD_PRELOAD so close all your Firefox windows and try this from a terminal :

$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/bin/firefox

or, if you're 32bit, this:
$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/bin/firefox
