Hi,
I'm using centos 6.2, kernel 2.6.32-220.7.1.el6.i686 on the IBM x3400 server.
CentOS only detects 16gb of ram, while the bios has detected the 32gb of ram alright. I read that it is due to 32-bit version of the OS, but my kernel is already 64bit (i686).
So, how can I have CentOS correctly detect 32gb of ram?
Thx.
Henry

Re: 16gb of ram detected out of 32gb
Run the 64 bit edition not the 32 bit one. The 32 bit version is limited to 16GB RAM as detailed in https://access.redhat.com/articles/rhel-limits
Also, please please don't run 6.2. It's massively out of date, riddled with serious security vulnerabilities and a complete liability. You should yum update and get current which is 6.7 at the moment.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
