Xorg + Matrox C420 Quad Output card

Hi All,

Having some really difficult issues with ATI/Matrox drivers and Centos 6.8.

Here's the output from my Xorg.0.log, and I'd like to point out the area regarding failure to map MMIO (see times 598.760 and 598.744).

Things I've tried to resolve:
- Installing official Matrox drivers, which are essentially old drivers. These required older Xorg, but resulted in errors same as the above.
- Installing ATI/AMD drivers for FirePro (15.302 version drivers), the output is above.
- Tried to use fglrx drivers from ElRepo, same issue again.

I don't really know what it means by failing to map it, or more specifically how to resolve it.

Looking around the net I found people performing the same install procedure in different methods... Some use amdconfig/aticonfig, some use RPM and some directly install patches using the installer script that's bundled with the first two sets of drivers. All yield the same results for me.

So I'm looking for advice on what could be preventing the mapping of MMIO. I feel that if I resolve that, the driver will work correctly and the cards will become usable (resulting in 'screens found').

Many thanks for any advice or input you guys may have. I'm really clutching at straws now.

JDMac

Did you get anywhere with this card? I'm thinking of buying one to experiment with a video wall, but would like to be sure it works with Centos/RHEL/Fedora. Thanks.

I gave up on CentOS 6 and got the server switched to CentOS 7 and used drivers from elrepo.

Worked fine then.

I would consider looking at AMD alternatives given a personal choice. Feel they may be better supported by vendor than Matrox.

Good luck. :)
