Slower disk after Kernel update

Post by gforceca » 2016/11/16 19:38:08

Facing the COW Vulnerability, I updated my server kernel on Nov 11th.
My Centos server to is now running version 2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64.

After rebooting the server, I noticed a huge increase in disk utilization and IO wait.
I decided to wait a few days and it more than tripled on average.

Am I the only one who saw that occure or is there a way to fix this?
See attachment for Munin Graph. (Daily spikes are backup processes)

Highly unlikely.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
