CentOS 6.7 and motherboards with intel chipset

Post by mSadaharu » 2017/10/22 14:26:36

Hi everyone! I have a specific software. The updated version of this software will work on CentOs 6.7 and will require intel chipset. Can you advice modern motheboards which will fully support CentOS 6.7,please. Under modern I understand those motherboards that are not withdrawn from sale, so i can easy buy this MB and CPU.

CentOS 6.7 is dead. Only 6.9 is current and receives patches and it is NOT SAFE to run 6.7.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Yeah, i know, but it will work on the network without the Internet(just switch, server and workstations) and this software after update will work on CentOS 6.7. At the moment it is CentOS 5.5.

UPD: Found out that LGA775 and LGA1150 motherboards work well with CentOS 6.7
