centos 6 issue with HP proliant

Post by heindall_br » 2018/08/16 12:59:31

Hi all,

I have an issue with the following logs in a HP Proliant ML30:

kernel: dmar: DRHD: handling fault status reg 2
kernel: dmar: INTR-REMAP: Request device [[00:00.0] fault index 13
kernel: INTR-REMAP:[fault reason 38] Blocked an interrupt request due to source-id verification failure

I traced this to the following article where the workaround is to add the below parameter to the kernel:
intremap=no_x2apic_optout

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public ... 19143en_us

I tried to add this parameter using sysctl but this parameter doesnt exist yet so I get an error.

Could you give me some lead to add this ?

Thanks,

It's not a sysctl, it's a kernel parameter that you need to append to the kernel command line in grub.conf then reboot
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
